The Squirrel, Ever Vigilant, Always Working
View this on my hubpage if you'd like. I prefer the format here, but, feel free to check out both and decide for yourself :-)
The Squirrel,
Ever Vigilant,
Always Working
Up
down
across he runs
Pauses peeks
Ever vigilant of hawks
Eagles owls
Who desire his flesh
Up
down
across he Scurries
scrounges
For nuts, fruits the grand prize:
A discarded apple core
A half-eaten sandwich
he fills his cheeks
And runs
Up
down
across to his home
In the tree tops
Secure and panting
Stowing
For like the hawk
Winter
Is descending.
Hey Justin--well you are right--because this piece works so much better in this format---Great job!
