I’ve been hearing about the claims that President Barack Obama wasn’t born in the U.S. since before he was even elected and that, as a foreign born citizen, he is not eligible to be the president. I’m not here to address that and, frankly, I don’t care. Whether he’s from Nigeria or from Hawaii, I didn’t vote for him and don’t plan to vote for him in 2012. He’s done a lousy job just like his predecessor. What I am here to address is whether or not that law makes sense and if it should be changed or modified. This, of course, leads to the question of whether the U.S. Constitution is a static literally interpreted document, or a living one that can be interpreted in any number of ways.
