Hissing: An Alliterative Poem

View the original here... along with a brief explanation of alliteration.

Hissing

So
you say
speaking not so softly.
Your voice,
sputtering syllables of
nonsense and discord.
Searing my spirit.
Hissing sounds—
Just …
Sounds…
 for the sake of sounds.
slamming doors, strong
faced and filled with simply
superfluous rage.

  1. Love the explanation of alliteration and link to your other blog as well as the "show, don't tell" in your poem that alliterates. Thank you for the follow @ http://maryltabor.com that is now both blog and website. Readers who scroll down will find some tips on getting published and analyses of poets Stevens and Hass. Glad to be in conversation with you, sir though this blog exchange. Yours is one to admire. I don't know much about Hubber yet but love what you've done there.
